ADOPTIONS AT BRAGA'S CRO SUSPENDED DURING THE CHRISTMAS SEASON

3, Dec 24 | Updates

Braga's Official Animal Shelter (CRO) will temporarily suspend adoption processes during the Christmas season, from December 14, 2024, to January 5, 2025. This decision aims to encourage conscious adoptions by preventing impulsive choices often driven by the festive atmosphere, which can frequently lead to returns or abandonments.

The holiday season is traditionally associated with symbolic gestures of giving, but adopting an animal requires a thoughtful and responsible decision. It entails a long-term commitment to the well-being and care of the adopted pet. By pausing adoption processes during this period, Braga's CRO seeks to raise awareness about the importance of making informed decisions and to ensure that the fleeting spirit of gift-giving during the holidays does not jeopardize the future of animals adopted impulsively.

Throughout the year, Braga's CRO has actively worked to promote responsible adoptions and to spread best practices regarding pet care. This initiative reinforces the message of responsible pet adoption within the community.

While adoption processes will be on hold during these dates, the CRO will remain operational, continuing to provide daily care for the sheltered animals. Regular adoption activities will resume on January 6, 2025, allowing interested individuals to schedule visits and start the adoption process again.

CRO and AGERE appeal for the community's understanding and emphasize that adoption is an act of responsibility and respect that must be approached as a serious and informed decision.

We extend our gratitude to all those who, throughout the year, have contributed to this mission, whether through adoption or by raising awareness for animal welfare.
