AGERE inaugurated today, at its Headquarters Building, a mural paying tribute to all employees who have contributed to the company’s history. The artwork, created by illustrator Soraia Oliveira, is a tribute that highlights the role of all professionals who have served at AGERE since its founding.
The mural depicts the various dimensions of AGERE’s activities and highlights services such as water supply, wastewater sanitation, urban cleaning, waste collection, water leak detection, and the work carried out by the Animal Welfare Centre (CRO). It also includes representations of the electric vehicles used by the company, symbolising its commitment to sustainable mobility, which helps reduce carbon emissions and city noise, as well as natural elements that reinforce AGERE’s priority of contributing to a greener, cleaner, and more environmentally friendly city.
Alexandra Roeger, Chairwoman of AGERE’s Board of Directors, emphasised during the ceremony that the company "is a true example of dedication to public service" and that "this mural is a fair recognition of all those who have worked to make Braga a cleaner, more sustainable city with a better quality of life."
A Presidente do Conselho de Administração da AGERE acrescentou ainda que "The Chairwoman further added that "the artwork reflects the company’s gratitude towards its employees, without whom it would not have been possible to achieve the level of excellence and commitment we have today with the city and our community."
The ceremony brought together former and current employees, demonstrating the sense of belonging and the legacy of a company that, for more than a quarter of a century, has been a pillar in the management of water, effluents, and waste in Braga.
Soraia Oliveira, the artist behind the piece, explained that the mural was designed to capture the essence of the workers and the collective impact they have on the lives of Braga’s residents.
