“United for a Cause” Campaign Wins in the “Public Participation and Citizenship” Category
AGERE has once again been recognized with the CIDADE+ Award, this time in the category of “Public Participation and Citizenship,” for its campaign United for a Cause | AGERE in support of UNICEF. The award ceremony took place during the 7th edition of the National Urban Cleaning Meeting (ENLU), held at Alfândega do Porto, under the theme “Streets without waste: the cities we want.”
The award-winning campaign stood out for its social and environmental impact, by linking subscription to electronic invoicing and direct debit services with a humanitarian cause: for each subscription, AGERE, in partnership with UNICEF, provided access to safe drinking water for one year to three people in emergency situations. At the same time, the initiative encouraged paper reduction and streamlined administrative processes, promoting digital transition among its clients.
The campaign was widely publicized and involved the local community, with the collaboration of educational institutions, associations, and public figures from Braga. This joint mobilization reinforced the participatory dimension of the campaign and highlighted the role of every citizen in building sustainable and meaningful solutions. According to Alexandra Roeger, Chairwoman of AGERE's Board of Directors, “this award recognizes the transformative power of a single action and the importance of involving people in purpose-driven projects. It also proves that innovation and social impact go hand in hand when there is vision and commitment.”
The CIDADE+ Awards annually recognize projects that stand out in improving urban cleaning services and waste collection, promoting technological innovation, organizational efficiency, and social cohesion—with visible impacts on urban quality of life and territorial sustainability.
This is the second time AGERE has been honored with this distinction. In 2023, the company was awarded in the “Happy Teams” category for its innovative model of employee participation in company results—a measure that strengthened internal recognition and strategic alignment between employees and the organization.
