“QUANDO AS FONTES CANTAM” MARKED NATIONAL WATER DAY AT SETE FONTES

1, Oct 25 | Updates

AGERE marked National Water Day with an artistic initiative at Sete Fontes, transforming the space into a living stage for awareness and culture.

The Sete Fontes Park in Braga hosted the presentation of the book "Quando as Fontes Cantam", by Adriana Moreira and Hugo Direito Dias, illustrated by Patrícia Ferreira. Produced by AGERE in partnership with the Tin.Bra Theatre Academy, the work was presented through a staged tour that turned this emblematic site into a living, sensory setting.

The initiative celebrated National Water Day, observed on October 1st, inviting dozens of children and other attendees to discover Sete Fontes from a new perspective that combined literature, theatre, and environmental education.

The dramaturgy and direction were led by Reynaldo Barreto Lisboa, who, inspired by the book, guided the audience along a journey where the narrative came to life through performances by Ana Paula Leite and Tiago Guimarães.

The performance followed a group of schoolchildren on a field trip who meet a talking cricket passionate about singing and storytelling. Along the way, visitors were invited to listen to and experience the “symphony” of the waters, where the voices of the fountains, the crickets, and natural elements intertwine to convey a message of love and respect for the planet.

In addition to promoting reading and creativity, the work highlights the importance of Sete Fontes’ water and cultural heritage and underscores the essential role of water in daily life, raising awareness among the younger generations about its preservation.
