AGERE has replaced the door-to-door collection process with a proximity collection system, which includes the installation of underground and surface containers on public roads, their cleaning, and optimizing the vehicle fleet.
The installation of underground and surface containers on public roads is a key focus for the company in this area of operation. The new system not only involves changes in equipment but also contributes to the city’s image, as well as public and environmental health.

GARBAGERE
A continuous investment in a culture of innovation based on the exploration of new technologies, with a focus on improving performance indicators, efficiency, and resident satisfaction, led AGERE to form a partnership with Enermeter to develop a technological platform for integrated management of its waste activities. This platform is named Garbagere.
WHAT IS GARBAGERE?
Garbagere is an application designed to support the management of the urban hygiene cycle in the municipality. It includes the new waste collection system, bulk waste collection, street sweeping, litter bin collection, and cleaning of urban equipment.
This platform strengthens partnerships between AGERE, Parish Councils, and citizens, allowing the reporting of anomalies that could lead to environmental impacts and public health issues.
Additionally, Garbagere monitors the effectiveness and collection times: it ensures that emptying operations are carried out in all containers and litter bins included in the predefined routes.
Another advantage of this application is that it allows for the recording of instances of improper use of the bins and identification of damaged, full, or overflowing containers, thus speeding up the identification of non-compliant occurrences.
OPTIMIZED NETWORK
Fleetboard is an environmentally responsible system used in various business sectors, and it positions AGERE as a pioneer in its implementation for Urban Waste Management in Portugal. The urban cleaning fleet, which comprises 23 vehicles, has been equipped with this system, which offers several advantages for vehicle maintenance. It minimizes wear and tear, optimizes collection routes, and thus results in fuel savings and a consequent reduction in CO2 emissions.
Fleetboard allows for customization of metrics and settings, evaluates driving styles, and provides data that identifies the main challenges faced by drivers, which can be addressed through training. This ensures greater safety and comfort for drivers, prioritizing their well-being. In this context, AGERE's commitment to social and environmental responsibility is highlighted.

Every 100 meters, in residential areas, there is a container for unsorted waste. Ensuring this right for all citizens of Braga, it is important that the equipment is used responsibly.

Recolha seletiva de biorresíduos
Nas zonas abrangidas pelo projeto já é possível separar corretamente os resíduos orgânicos que devem ser colocados no saco verde e depositados no contentor do lixo indiferenciado.
Este sistema vai permitir fazer uma seleção, através de um sistema de triagem, em que os biorresíduos serão encaminhados para valorização.

Recolha e Reciclagem de Cápsulas de Café Usadas
A AGERE, em parceria com a Associação Industrial e Comercial do Café (AICC), implementou um serviço de recolha e reciclagem de cápsulas de café usadas, integrado na campanha “Recaps”; que visa promover a sustentabilidade e a correta valorização de materiais como alumínio, plástico e a borra de café, presentes neste tipo de resíduos.

A AGERE disponibiliza contentores específicos nas Juntas de Freguesia, Empresas Municipais e outras entidades aderentes, permitindo aos munícipes entregar as suas cápsulas usadas de forma fácil e conveniente. Posteriormente, os resíduos são recolhidos pelos serviços da AGERE e encaminhados para centros de reciclagem, onde serão transformados em novos produtos.

Litter Bin Collection and Maintenance
Daily, AGERE collects and replaces the bags in litter bins, as well as maintains and cleans the components of these equipment. The collection of waste from the litter bins is carried out by dedicated teams using specialized equipment for this task.

City Sweeping
Urban cleaning in Braga goes beyond traditional brooms. Innovative and concerned with the well-being of its employees, AGERE has acquired electric urban vacuum cleaners – Glutton® – which alleviate the manual work of street sweepers.
With professionals trained for this purpose, the urban cleaning team is assisted by these devices, which ensure increased performance and efficiency in cleaning streets and public spaces.

AGERE has both large and medium-sized washing equipment to address the various operational needs throughout the city's streets.
Collection of bulky waste
If you need to dispose of furniture, appliances, mattresses, or other large items, do not leave them on the public road. The Bulky Waste Collection service operates from Monday to Friday by appointment only. The item should be placed on the public road only on the night before its scheduled collection.
