AGERE'S ELECTRIC SWEEPER REACHES PARISHES TO IMPROVE CLEANING SERVICES

24, Sep 24 | Updates

The promise made during the public presentation of AGERE's new electric urban cleaning fleet has been fulfilled today: an electric sweeper is now cleaning the streets in the União de Freguesias of Celeirós, Aveleda and Vimieiro, Tadim, Sequeira, Ferreiros and Gondizalves, Vilaça and Fradelos.

AGERE decentralized the first electric cleaning equipment in a ceremony held this Tuesday at the Celeirós Municipal Pool. The event was attended by the Mayor of Braga, Ricardo Rio, and the Chairman of the Board of AGERE, Rui Sá Morais, who emphasized AGERE's commitment to making cleaning operations more efficient and environmentally friendly.

“Este é mais um passo no caminho para fazer de Braga uma cidade cada vez mais sustentável. A introdução destas varredoras elétricas em áreas periféricas vem ajudar o processo de descarbonização e vai melhorar a qualidade de vida da população, com um serviço de limpeza mais eficiente e silencioso”, afirmou o Presidente do Conselho de Administração da AGERE.

Rui Sá Morais also highlighted AGERE’s ongoing efforts to modernize its fleet: “We are expanding the use of cutting-edge technology to parishes further away from the city center, with an investment already reaching 1.3 million euros and an additional 1.2 million euros planned by 2027. This aims to reduce our ecological footprint, improve the urban environment and enhance the working conditions of our cleaning teams.”

This electric sweeper is part of AGERE’s strategic fleet decarbonization plan, which now includes 40 electric units. It strengthens the company's mission to promote green mobility and make the cleaning service more efficient and effective.
